THE PRACTICE

A blend of alignment-based physical yoga and mental exploration through conscious effort & conversation

01 / BODY

We begin with a physical yoga practice that builds strength, structure, and stability – all while developing our understanding of what makes us feel safe and powerful. Use props, partner poses, and breathwork to explore the physical territory and maps of the body. Feel grounded and held as you explore how our physiology mirrors our psychology.

02 / MIND

Enter a supportive group discussion where we explore the interplay of Katonah Yoga theory and personal psychology. Learn and integrate practices (beyond the physical) that support our everyday lives. We build ourselves up as we build community. Deepen your sense of connection to yourself and others, enhance mental clarity and emotional well-being.

03/ DIGEST & ENJOY

FOCUS On Foundation

We see the body as a house – an abode for the Spirit –  and we begin our study of the material on the 1st floor. We use myth, metaphor, and personal mind-body of the 1st floor to explore the practice in our first half day retreat. 

1st of 3. Elani and Steph are eager to build this special offering together and are committed to offering 3 upcoming half day retreats this Spring/early summer.

There is no obligation to join any other retreats. If you attend more than one half day retreat, we would love to offer you a discount.

FAQ

IS ANY PREVIOUS YOGA OR KATONAH YOGA KNOWLEDGE NEEDED?

No. 
We love this practice and are excited to share it's magic with you from square 1! We will build from the ground up and no prior yoga experience is needed. All practices shared during this retreat are for ALL levels. 
 

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?

Please bring a yoga mat and a journal/pen. We will provide everything else!

BONUS - If you have any yoga blocks, blankets or straps, please bring them (but they aren't required).
 

WILL THERE BE FOOD OR DRINKS SERVED?

Yes! This half day retreat is an opportunity for us to take care of you. We will serve some satiating bites and drinks after our physical yoga practice as we move to group activities and conversation.  
 

WHAT IF I HAVE DIETARY NEEDS?

Please share them in your registration form! We want to take great care of you and keep you safe/happy.
 

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Plan to move your body in a physical yoga practice and sit comfortable in a group conversation. 
 

WHERE IS THE RETREAT?

We plan to host at Steph's house in Wheat Ridge for a cozy and intimate experience. If we need we will move the event to a larger space.
 

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT BUT WANT TO JOIN THE NEXT RETREAT?

No problem! We'd love to have you at one of our next half day retreats in June. No previous attendance is needed to attend one of our future events
